OVERVIEW:
The MDG Film Academy is a special program geared towards bringing the fun, excitement and professionalism of filmmaking into the hands of teens aged 14-18. The qualifications of participation are not based off of economic class. This is a program directed toward ALL youth despite the financial hardships of struggling families.
BACKGROUND:
In 2005 through the generous support of Boise area videographers and Indie Producers, equipment was loaned out to the film crew which would later become MDG Films. It was through such support that MDG was formed.
In 2008 the MDG Film Academy was born to offer the students of North Junior High School in Boise, Idaho the chance to write, shoot and edit their own short films, have them promoted in the local media and premiered at a major movie theater in the heart of downtown.
It was a program that started with very few teens having any interest in film but left them wanting to become filmmakers after two weeks.
Today, the MDG Film Academy returns offering Idaho based teens the opportunity to have a similar experience.
